Chris Moore, a.k.a Krohme, was exposed early to varying genres of music, all of which he implements into his music today. Born in Bethesda, Maryland, on August 16, 1980, Krohme became interested in music at an early age. From playing classical instruments to mixing records on his mother’s turntable, he developed an ear for music.
Utilizing his own diverse musical interests, which included hip-hop, soul, rock, heavy metal and classical, he began sampling records to develop a unique musical library that he extended to local artists and, eventually, unsigned artists along the east coast.
It wasn’t until 2004 that Krohme began sending beat CDs off to record labels. Disappointed with a lack of response, he began reaching out to various artists and labels via the internet. He got in touch with GZA’s DJ and was able to get his music in the hands of the legendary MC as well as generate interest from other MC’s.
His first big break came in the summer of 2005 when Hell-Razah of Black Market Militia/Sunz of Man asked Krohme to produce a track for his upcoming solo album, the song, Lost Ark was completed that same day. The resulting track was well-received and resulted in Hell-Razah requesting additional tracks. This led to other artists gaining interest, including MF Grimm who in early 2006, would ask to manage Krohme as well as officially make him a part of Day By Day Entertainment.
In the meantime, with input from artists like Shyheim, Hell-Razah and Psycho Les, Krohme started Godsendant Music in February 2005 and released the first album through the label, his solo album, All Praises Due with guest appearances from Royce Da 5’9, MC Serch, Agallah, C-Rayz Walz, Hell-Razah, Chace Infinite, Triple Seis in February of 2007. The album has done well as an independent release selling 1000 copies in it’s first week.
After the success of Ras Kass' Hush Little Baby (The Game Diss), which was featured prominently on radio, TV and websites globally, Krohme's stock dramatically increased. He has since produced well over 200 songs for artists like Obie Trice, Ill Bill, Killah Priest, Lord Jamar and the list goes on.
He is also wrapping up his mythical album, The Beasts Released Volume 1: South of Heaven which is set to arrive on Halloween 2008, as well as the prequel, The Battle for 2012 and the follow-up to his solo, The Satanic Candidate.
